(1) "volitility could be a friend to Duke." I agree with you Paul. I've heard a couple analysts on CNBC say that utilities are the best mid-cap/small-cap safe stock play.
(2) "a move to 60... cheering for split." I would say the more appropriate time frame for a split would be say 4 or 5 months at a price between 70 to 75. Duke rarely splits and at their present growth rate, it'll probably take that long to get to a share price they might split at. -I heard on CNBC today that energy stocks are going to have massive warnings out soon along with big decreases in earnings. These are oil and oil service. I would expect that utilities might also suffer. This recent upswing is due to the general current of the market. I'd be ready with some cash to buy on dips. Next month might be right for a substantial "optional cash payment."
(3) "Duke is the better team right now." You have got to be kiddin' right? Last game between Duke and Carolina, Carolina lost on poor free throw shooting at the end. It was played at Duke. Duke and Carolina have for years split their games on their home courts. Look it up. Also look up the score on the game played at the Dean Dome. Duke lost by 20+. I'll give you that with the Super Freshman back, they look poised for a deep run in the NCAA tourament. But, as for the ACC championship, I like Carolina by 7. In the past, the regular season champ doesn't usually beat the other in the ACC tourney. That is when its Duke and Carolina.
