days like this are good...they shake out the weak hands
ODP is now .80 off of its recent high...that is a 13+% drop from 6.10's to 5.30's
time to buy...forget a takeover...would it be nice to wake up tomorrow with an offer of $7.50? of course it would...but ODP can get to $7.50-8 on its own
ODP is on the verge of a positive feedback cycle...economic improvements lead to earnings improvements which lead to analyst upgrades which lead to inflows of institutional money and short covering...all of this leads ODP to the $9-10 range by the end of 2011
sit back, relax...short term ODP has some work to do but I expect it to be back above 6 by Feb. opex...medium term, ODP is probably trading in the 8's in late spring after the May earnings report...longer term it is testing 10 by yeah end
The recent highs are strictly due to takeover speculation. The current fundamentals support a price range of about $4.50. I can not imagine what positive news you are talking about except your wild imagination.
I do not believe that OMX will buy this POS and baring buyout ODP will surely fall below %5.00
We've heard it all before. It's just that the high in the distant future keeps getting lower, and the future keeps getting farther and farther away.
If we don't see really good numbers, we are screwed for the foreseeable future. And if this thing drops below $5, there's no telling what the bottom will be. It wouldn't surprise me to see it break four if it does.
A couple weeks ago, my fortune cookie said that I was going to make a sound financial decision in the next few days. I think it was telling me to sell. IT seems that fortune cookies are giving better advice than people on this board and the anal-ists.
Try buying a really reliable dog. Mine picks stocks and plays poker. He is a pretty good old boy, and has made me a lot of money.
He is way better than a crystal ball or a weejee board, when it comes to picking stocks, and I only have to feed him good quality steak.
He sneaks around during a poker game and then comes and nudges my foot when I am about to make a bad bet, or perks up his ears when the cards are right.
You can't beat an English bred Labrador Retriever.
He swims pretty good too.
I don't hunt, but I understand he can find ducks in freezing water in the dark.
I'm not going to test his patience on that.
Get yourself a good dog and treat him right.
He is way better than any stock analyst I ever met.
