"Nationwide, the unemployment rate dropped sharply in December to 9.4 percent from 9.8 percent. About half that decline was because more unemployed workers gave up on their job searches. The government doesn't count people as unemployed when they stop looking for work. The metro data lags behind the national data by several weeks."
Oh, I don't know. No one in my area is unemployed unless they wanna be. Plenty of jobs here for those who want to work. In the middle of Buckeye country, in the middle of winter. The Ohio State University, Chase, and The Limited are hiring, the three largest employers in the area, other than the state and the federal government Honda in Marysville is also hiring. Kroger's, Mickey D's and Burger King are hiring too, if that's all you can do.
