There's an article in today's UK Times titled 'Blunder lets looters pounce on HMS Victory'. It says that at least 2 and possibly as many as 6 bronze guns were illicitly taken from the site. Odyssey apparently published a report that details the damage done to the site and blames English Heritage for publishing the wreck's co-ordinates. It cites Lord Lingfield's comments that the shipwreck must be excavated now to prevent further damage and interestingly, it says that the MHF hopes to hold an exhibition of the items recovered so far!
The bottom line is that this seems like a perfect development for Odyssey in silencing the critics and allowing the company to move forward with the excavation without resistance. For those shorts who have been hoping that the momentum would swing against Odyssey and that the excavation would be stalled, this is a big blow. Although it's unfortunate that a few cannons were looted from the site and that it had to suffer some damage, I view this as a big positive development for accelerating the excavation of one of the most valuable shipwreck projects in the world.
With the Seabed Worker on the move, the momentum on the Victory growing, and gold and silver moving higher on expectations of more money printing the potential reward this summer is getting very exciting for this little shipwreck company.
Just so we are clear...hanging out less than 48 hours over the Victory site does not equate to 5 days.
And now the odds of them going back for at least a 5 day stint by Saturday are just about......nil.
Sorry, danbunch, Jeff...and all...
I was correct again. Odyssey was barely over the Victory site.
Now it has left.
I am once again....correct.
"If the Victory goes out over the site by Saturday and stays there for at least 5 days, I'll admit I called it wrong."
Not 5 days....not 5 months...Odyssey has left the building.

No one else got what this insect is admitting to here?
It was making him crazy that no one got that it was HIM playing a "fox" (get it yuk yuk) to bait the longs. He couldn't stand it that his cleverness went unnoticed, so he had to let everyone in on it.
he's a W-i-n-n-e-r.

Ha, ha, ha, you guys are a blast..you are so subjective about things that you have no control over..what will be, will be..let the chips fall where they may..you have made your investment, now learn how to live without worrying about it night and day..now that all your ships are out to sea doing what your think they should be doing be happy..in a few days you will know if they will have any success or add to their chain of failures..chances are something negative will pop out of nowhere as it usually does with OMEX.
Certainly did not say impressed instead said amused. Its different than the bashing name calling that usually occurs. Honestly I don't think he's short, instead he's learned that he can get the attention he needs by acting as if he's short. Reality is that on a few other boards he meaningfully contributes. Unfortunately on this board he's learned the most affected way of receiving attention is to appear short. It's all kids stuff anyway!

"Simply" doing deep ocean archaeology or filming for the Discovery channel = "nonsense"
Posting 24/7 on an investment forum about how much smarter you are than the world = "genius"
See how that works?
