Today Infosys has crossed one billion dollar revenue mark. The company is being praised all over India for this remarkable achievement. Let us take some time to closely examine what this company really is and what lies for it in the future.

Infosys claims to be �Powered by Intellect and Driven by Values�. In reality it�s intellect is nothing but a bunch of half educated Third World graduates and values boils down to prostitution. Each year Infosys hires thousands of graduates from all over India with no educational experience in computers. Most of them see their first computer in life after joining Infosys. The average starting salary is around $500 per month. After joining they go thorough some initial training program and then they are dumped into offshore projects. Once in project they are forced to work like donkeys. India does not have any labor protecting law and Infosys exploits that to the fullest extent. Infosys employees work on an average of 12 hrs a day and 7 days a week but Infosys never bills the client for more than 8 hrs a day and 5 days a week. Naturally no one receives any overtime payment. On an average Infosys employees work for less than 2 dollars an hour. This is less than half the minimum wage in the United States. Naturally greedy American Corporations love Infosys. This is a new form of Slavery for them, as it existed in the cotton fields of Southern States centuries ago.

Now let us consider the values that Infosys boasts so much about. Infosys cheats its clients at every possible opportunity. Since there is a huge shortage of experienced professionals in Infosys, it assigns one experienced consultant to an average of three to four projects and allocates inexperienced trainees for most of the work. Most of the time Infosys bills the client 8 hours a day for all the projects. This way Infosys bills the client 32 hours even though the consultant actually has worked for 12 hours. This practice is as unethical as prostitution. Infosys delivered code is always infested with bugs and sometimes Infosys delivered screen freezes after the transaction is submitted. One might wonder why client tolerates such performance. The truth is all client project managers hate Infosys but they have to keep their mouth shut since company CEO thinks Infosys is saving them lots of money. In absolute dollar term Infosys does save money but if one brings into calculation the productivity loss due to faulty software, Infosys does more damage than the money saved in development. Unfortunately CEOs are so blind by their greed, they fail to observe.

Abraham Lincoln once said �You can fool some people all time and all people some time but you can never fool all people all time�. This applies very much to the future of Infosys. It has been successfully able to fool investors, clients and media for some time by showing its huge campuses, golf course etc but the truth has started to come to light at last. Outsourcing has become the most important political issue in the United States and the jobless recovery has made outsourcing the major target of attack. In Australia Infosys has been recently forced to drastically cut back its outsourcing plan in Telestra account due to political pressure. Similar trend is expected to repeat in the United States. Some of Infosys clients like Morgan Stanley has started cutting back on outsourcing due to poor quality of delivery. The rise of Indian Rupee against US dollar has already reduced Infosys operating margin by around 10 percent over a period of one year. This trend is expected to continue and as the cost of living in India goes up, outsourcing will loose its attraction.
