Management big failure at this stage

Unfortunate that they can't manage downward spiral in industry. Should have stuck with my GRPN.

    Sentiment: Hold

    • Management is hard at work cutting costs (e.g., eliminating money-eating, price-lowering Phase 2 completion), finishing projects (Phase 1 and Sorbx launch), and approaching the finish of projects (Chlor Alkali and JV magnet significant production). They don't have much power over SP in the months in-between. If Phase 1 isn't very close at next earnings, that will be a failure; if significants cost cuts haven't been realized, that will be a failure; if Sorbx contracts haven't begun to fall into place, that will be a failure; if progress on Chlor Alkali is not reported, that will be a failure; if the picture for establishing a cash-positive business by 2014 isn't made, that will be a failure. New management has not done anything wrong yet, and they've done a lot right.

      This is current plan:
MCP will finish Phase 1 by mid-year and cut costs drastically
MCP will finish Chlor Alkali in 2nd half and cut costs drastically again
MCP, through new distribution deal, will establish Sorbx as a product that can absorb all cerium production, for Phase 1 and eventually Phase 2

      Those are your guideposts.
