    Rueters Article

One thing I do know for a fact is that ADM CLINTON is buying corn (and has been for a year)in a very competive market place. To me this means they are making plastic and preparing to ship large quantities in the near future.
You do not buy $7 corn if you do not have a need for it.

THis article certainly pointed out all the negatives but they did forget to mention that MBLX has annouced customers and this means there will be revenues generated sooner rather then later.

One last thing if MBLX is going to be priced competitivly with oil @ $30 then the profit marging should be improving.

    • @mudracker - Thanks. Can you give more background on the corn purchasing. Facts are always appreciated.
Yes, does one interpret the recent customer announcements as too little too late, or as the early beginnings of commercial expansion. For now, I go with the latter.

      • I think all of the investors in MBLX really want Clinton to be a success mostly because it makes management more credible than they appear at this moment. However, I don't know how many of us bought shares based on Clinton vs based on the vision of possibilities of the other programs.

The article was written by a moron who did a poor job understanding MBLX despite access to high level analysts. No mention of the JV royalties before ADM is paid back. (they might be meagre but they are more significant than other issues he references and would provide profitability fairly soon if the company had 0 ambitions.) No mention that the cash burn is as expected. No mention of seemingly huge news in the tobacco research (extending to Sugar and Switchgrass). No mention of how things look for the oilseeds (other that referencing a grant but ignoring why the project could be a game changer). And totally somewhat blowing the C2 - C5 chemicals info (though certainly I'd be happier with a factory having delays there than little done at all for figuring out who will be producing it).

Oddly the article made some good negative points as well and I certainly don't get why MBLX would give briefings to Ardour but treat the guy like a douche. It seems they are blowing walking that line. If I were running IR I certainly take a question from him but queue in a ton of follow-up questions from others I like more such that time is naturally expired without too much damage.

How is JinMing Liu's PhD in Neuroscience relevant to company performance, green technologies, or bio-plastics? I should point out here I was an all-american candidate for the 8-man position while playing rugby union in college. It's as relevant.

In short, kind of pathetic article. If you are going to do a hit piece it would be more credible if you at least focused on "delays in implementation of the ADM/MBLX JV have many questioning any hope MBLX has in getting to other more promising technologies" but it seems this person was incapable of doing basic research.
