sad thing is they wanted to price higher no bites

There are definitely 2 sides to this argument. Only time will tell if this was a smart move or not. At this point I feel betrayed by management but I'm still hoping we will see some positive developments before the annual meeting that will take us much higher.

    • We will see. Timing on this one was tough. I really thought they would get a deal done within the Q2 timeframe. Perhaps ZIOP got no compelling offers on ZIO-201 and decided to keep moving ahead and see if any better nibbles turn up down the road.

I'm still hopeful there is something valuable in the oldest program (ZIO-101) and excited about the potential of the infant(ZIO-301) straight-to-oral effort.

With this much cash they will likely be able to move all 3 programs ahead (alone) if necessary.

This is cheap on a valuation basis but I fear the folks looking for a short term "value enhancing" event will be moving out of this over the next few weeks. Hopefully Fidelity and friends offer a bit of support.

Perhaps management will clarify the game plan at the annual meeting in June.

    • I was expecting a share offering, but not right before ASCO. They should have anticipated the share price rising as a result of ASCO and announced sometime afterwards.

I do think this was the right decision (other than timing) though. They will clearly need more cash in the not too distant future, and it will help increase the float which should attract more institutions.
