Earthlink just announced the closing of its call centers:
Teletech has a top executive from Earthlink - hmmm.
I think the fix may be in folks. I think there will be news this week - maybe tonight
Article on Earthlink call centers.
Note they says:
"EarthLink remains committed to delivering award-winning customer service and maintaining our reputation for excellence and innovative tools and features," said Garry Betty, EarthLink's chief executive officer. "By improving operational efficiencies, this plan allows us to serve our customers and better compete in a highly dynamic marketplace."
Excellent research! Not only did Earthlink come out and say they are restructuring, but that they will be utilizing an outsourcer. TTEC is well positioned for this business since they have been doing the VZ ISP for quite awhile. Hopefully this one actually transpires soon...
"EarthLink expects a seamless transition as customer support functions will be routed to its remaining Atlanta staff and to outsourced contact center providers."
Fatty wants to know why Earthlink would tell their customers about the customer service upheaval without having a deal in place. After all, if they were going with a public company like Teletech, why not tell the world about it? Get some bragging rights. That VP from Earthlink is a non-issue. She's not a decision-maker, just a worker bee with a big title.
