I tend to agree with you except that VMW is also in the mix. How much value it would add to EMC as a standalone depends upon where the IT world goes in the cloud world. There are many non-public companies such as Caringo, Storsimple Nasuni, Bridgestor and Aspera. That is by far just the tip of the companies lining up for a piece of the pie. VMW brings with it the virtual side and is worth something. I was thinking in the neighborhood of $35, but only the market would determine. Oracle would I think benefit the most. THat being said I still do not believe that EMC would sell out. At least not while Joe Tucci is in charge. Another unknown company like INTC may be interested but I believe they just do not have the coin required.
