The idiot on CNBC (Ted David) tried to explain EMC's recent down turn in stock price to H.D. makers like Seagate etc..What a dope....if your gonna interview someone on your show, at least know what is that they do. That's like saying Cummins and Briggs&Stratton are car makers because they build engines!!! Do your homework CNBC!!!! EMC dosen't MAKE anything! They buy all their parts from vendors like Seagate, IBM, Terradyne, Transistor Devices and many others. There's a big difference between a H.D. mfg and a world leader of enterprise storage and software to run it. SHEEEEESH!!!!!
I try to explain EMC's business to people by using DELL as an example. They buy parts, put them together, and sell a completed product. Of course, EMC sells their software to make it all work, and DELL sells other's software to make it work, but the DELL/EMC business models are similar enough for explanation purposes.
