    More Good News For Longs

So Microsoft paid $8.5 billion for Skype and now has almost $2 billion in revenue and 5 million customers.

While Vonage has about half that - about $1 billion revenue and 2.5 million customers - and is far more profitable than Skype.

That means Vonage is worth way over half the $8.5 BILLION that Microsoft paid for Skype.

So WHEN Vonage's market cap grows to $4.25 billion (half of what Microsoft paid for Skype), the Vonage share price will be $19.85 and that is FAIR VALUE NOW!!

Microsoft’s Skype Unit Approaching $2 Billion in Annual Revenue

"Microsoft Corp. ’s Skype unit, which includes Lync software for corporate instant messaging and Internet calling, is approaching $2 billion in annual sales.

The division is getting close to the size of Microsoft’s SharePoint business, which focuses on tools that help employees collaborate, according to Giovanni Mezgec, a general manager in the Skype division. SharePoint brings in $2 billion in revenue a year, on an adjusted basis, Microsoft said in November .

Microsoft has 5 million users for the corporate-telephony version of Lync, its most expensive iteration of the product, Mezgec said. That’s up from 3 million 14 months ago, he said. Of the 100 largest companies, by Fortune magazine’s ranking, 90 are Lync customers, he said."

Good luck to all good people.

Yep.... you gotta hand it to MANAGEMENT, they are ON-THE-MONEY AGAIN:

      [March 21, 2013]
"Vonage Network Assigned Patent ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 21 -- Vonage Network, Holmdel, N.J., has been assigned a patent (8,401,528) developed by Amichay Oren, Rosh HaAyin, Israel, Gregory Hardy, Marietta, Ga., and Moti Gust, Haniel, Israel, for "systems and methods for providing telephony services." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A system and method for enabling a user to purchase an instant mobile telephony services plan makes use of an application on a mobile telephony device. The market always comes back to FUNDAMENTALS

Good luck to all good people.

    • Love those FUNDAMENTALS:

Vonage is Among the Companies in the Alternative Carriers Industry With the Highest Return on Equity (VG, PGI, IRDM, TWTC, CCOI)

"Mar 14, 2013 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- Below are the three companies in the Alternative Carriers industry with the highest return on equity. The ROE is a general indication of the company's efficiency; investors usually look for companies with ROEs that are high and are growing.Vonage ranks highest with a ROE of 11.8%. Premiere Global Services is next with a ROE of 11.1%. Iridiummmunications ranks third highest with a ROE of 7.7%."

Good luck to all good people.

    • BTW, if 6x revenue is the mark for valuation (like the Seekingalpha article says about 8x8), Vonage's 2012 revenue of $849 Million would mean Vonage is worth at least $5 BILLION.

And a $5 BILLION market cap equates to a share price of $23.80 ($5 BILLION divided by the current 214 million shares outstanding).

That is just about what I have been saying that the FUNDAMENTALS indicate. That's precisely why:

Good luck to all good people.

      • Just imagine....

These guys want you to believe that 8x8 (who made a total NET profit of ONLY $64,000 in 2012) should be worth $1 BILLION. That would be $14.29 per share for a company that ONLY MADE 11 cents per share.

Looks like they must be UP TO THEIR LIPS in 8x8 shares AND TRYING TO BAIL OUT.

        March 14, 2013

Good luck to all good people.

    • The market is JUST STARTING TO REALIZE that Vonage is WAY, WAY UNDERVALUED.

This article is what I've been saying - FUNDAMENTALS:

Ignore The Noise, Buy These Beaten Down Stocks (Feb 26 2013)

"Vonage (VG) has turned around its net equity from -$130 million to over $300 million in just the past 3 years. It trades at 7 times free cash flow and 0.7 times sales, while its main competitor, 8x8 (EGHT), trades at 70 times free cash flow and 4 times sales. Vonage is not growing nearly as fast as EGHT but it does have a significant potential to grow in Brazil, where it recently partnered with Datora Telecom to deliver communication services to customers in Brazil."

      Don't say nobody warned you.

Good luck to all good people.

Vonage Applauds FCC Order Supporting Lower Rates to Call Pakistan

"HOLMDEL, N.J., March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Vonage Holdings Corp. (VG) applauds the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for issuing an order yesterday that prohibits U.S. telecommunications providers from paying rates for calls to Pakistan above those in place prior to October 1, 2012, when telecommunications providers in Pakistan, with the support of the Pakistani government, increased the cost to complete calls to the country by more than 500 percent (the "Order"). The Order was issued as a result of Vonage's petition for FCC intervention to fight the price increase on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis living in the United States. The petition was universally supported by providers in the U.S."

Good luck to all good people.

    • It just keeps getting better and better:

      (PRWEB) January 05, 2013

"The VoIP industry has been buzzing lately over IBISWorld’s announcement that the VoIP industry has experienced a 16.7% annual growth rate in the last five years. For people in the VoIP industry, there’s no surprise there. VoIP is an increasingly popular option for landline phone service, and VoIP use is constantly on the rise, especially in the business world."

      ANOTHER TOUGH BREAK for basher(s).

Good luck to all good people.

    • Skype COMPARES VERY POORLY with Vonage features and it's NOT COMPETITIVE AT ALL with Vonage's mobile which is 30% CHEAPER THAN SKYPE:

"Skype may be best known for its free video chat, but the company is also a provider of cheap VoIP services . While its pricing is hard to beat, Skype’s affordability is indicative of the service’s overall functionality; its service plans are slim, offering little more than basic calling features.

The service provides call waiting, voicemail caller ID, call forwarding and call transfer. However, it lacks call waiting, call return, call blocking, and other convenient and useful features."

That means Vonage's SUPERIOR SERVICE is even more valuable than half of the $8.5 BILLION that Microsoft paid for UNDERPOWERED Skype - Way over $4.25 billion for Vonage. Vonage is the NUMBER 1 VOIP BUYOUT CANDIDATE and we don't even need no buyout.

Good luck to all good people.

    • Who will argue that Skype was overvalued or that Vonage is no Skype. I say so. Vonage is not worth much at all because without advertising the customers will leave for Skype. Never met anyone who left Skype for Vonage. I like Facebook phone.
