Does anyone believe VG share price will see $5.00+ by end of 2013?
After today's same as usual earnings announcement and after two years of holding 10K Shrs VG @ $5.50 Shr, I'm considering selling out. I'm in this on Margin (spare me the lectures please). Other than 'Basic Talk' and the Brazil, I don't see any reason for hope and do not wish to wait another two years until end of 2014. Appreciate your honest opinions. kg
Who knows but if they were successful in gaining 50-100,000 basic talk subscribers in a quarter I would say they are. The roaming product received 2-3000 likes when on Facebook and again could be a really good money earner. I'm glad to see its back on the list for launching hopefully this year
Emphasis needs to be on BasicTalk right now. Where I live there are already a few voip players offering local calling and national plans for cheap. Vonage has nothing to compete and are non-existent in the marketplace for this product. These competitors are aggressively advertising online, local TV, bus advertising and billboards. The word on the street is starting to catch fire about these lower priced (voip) plans as people look to cut their monthly bills.
Despite what many say here, not everyone is cutting the cord at home and going solo with a a cell. Many older, retired folks (btw, a growing base with each passing day) who have always had a phone at home do not want to lose it. If they can save $15-$20 per month on a basic plan and keep their phones they will do that.
As I've mentioned several times, the majority of people do not call 60+ countries. That was "in" and "cool" four years ago when first introduced. But that market is currently tapped out. Vonage needs to swing this BasicTalk plan right now and stop the bleeding.
The intermediate uptrend which has started 10 months ago has not changed. Not yet as of today, tomorrow might be different story but broad market is entering historically challenging period of time/Jun-September/.
The critical number for S@P500 is next 50-100 points.Once we are above this level Vonage is capable of reaching $5, even with flat revenues or $7 with some improvement.
Having margin is never good idea especially during low market volatility period.
If you feel confident and patient you can sell part of your VG to cover the margin.
