Great Value Earning ~$3.81/sh in 2008
Company estimates in the last earnings release are for 500 billion yen in profits. With about 1261.2M shares and the yen at 104/$, that's about $3.78/share in CY 2008. Believable because they earned $0.81 in the seasonally weak first quarter. And these company estimates are coming from a conservative Japanese management that usually beats their estimates, not US managers trying to prop up their options. They have shown they can manage past the yen strength. With over $5/share in net cash on the books, this remains a great buy even though it is up a lot today.
