7D is a great camera - hot seller.

Canon and Nikon have always been the 2 best camera manufacturers for the majority of pros, prosumers and average consumers. (nevermind very high priced medium formats, rangefinders, etc.)

Canon's 7D has reportedly been a hot seller as of late and reviews have been mostly good-great.

see also consumer reviews on amazon.com (search canon 7d)

I've noted a frequent shortage of this camera on US sites like amazon, best buy and other retailers.

Granted, this is not your everyday camera for all users, but it represents Canon's philosophy of putting all the newest technologies and innovations into their mid-range camera line (HD video, quality weather sealing, fast and customizable autofocusing, high-end lithium ion technology, in-house produced digital sensors and DIGIC4 CPU processors, etc.) Expect to see this technology trickle up and down into their Pro lines and consumer cameras over the next few years. No other camera manufacturer can match this. No other camera manufacturer can do this in house (look at their camcorder line also). Their R&D labs are pretty top secret and extremely well funded, but rumors abound as to how they will try to keep one step up on Nikon, Sony, Samsung, Olympus, Pentax and the others. They are pretty good at milking their current products for as much profit as possible and then releasing new products to stay the frontrunner in digital camera tech.

And I think they make OK business machines as well. Well diversified product line and growing international exposure.

On the downside, credit and the economy is rocky...but always will be.

    My 2 cents.

Disclosure: Nothing. I do not currently own this stock.
