I haven't posted here for awhile. Unlike Cramer, I don't believe this is a 'fad' and this is a viable business with a very loyal following.
However, I emailed the company several times (as a concerned shareholder and multiply published seeking alpha writer) about their website not working on iphone properly. Simply put, their checkout does not work on iphone (I haven't checked other mobile devices - but I assume its not working on ipad at the very least).
This is a major issue considering as much as 30-40% of their web traffic likely comes from those 2 devices. I base these percentages on industry averages, web traffic by mobile device and guide it slightly higher than normal for Skullcandy being that their customers are more high tech than average and definitely more trendy and likely to have and use iphone and ipad for surfing the net.
Anyhow, this was well over a month ago that I emailed them. Luckily I got out on a spike, but I never heard anything back from. This is truly pathetic and management should be fired for this. There is simply no excuse for this sort of fail to occur even for an hour let alone months, when they have a full time tech team of dozens of highly paid programmers and designers and update website graphics almost daily!
Sorry to hear about your problems. Perhaps you should have pursued it further. I know sometimes there are 'security' features that need to be 'enabled' in order to process 'sensitive' information and maybe that was the problem with your iphone.
Here is additional reading on the company that could be helpful for newbies and current shareholders:
I get checkout errors on both iphone 4s and ipad 2, both using the current software. Pathetic that a company this size dosent have a dedicated mobile site to begin with. Dont expect a growth in web sales as its obviously not a priority.
I have successfully ordered 3 sets of headphones on my iPad with no issue. I wanted to change the address on one and called the customer support line and found someone there as early as 9am ET to help me who was very professional. Would have thought if I could do it via Safari on iPad you could with iPhone, interesting.
