My negative take on the new CEO
40ish? Nike? Digital? Unless this heralds a partnership with Nike (maybe it does), this is the wrong call by management.
SKUL has plenty of hip coolness already. It didn't need more youth and cool. The problem at SKUL is not lack of cool, but lack of discipline, lack of execution, and consequent ginormous shareholder value destruction. Not that management seems to care much about that.
By their decision, SKUL management again showed that they're too cool to take care of all that boring shareholder and performance stuff. That just keeps them off the beach and slopes, and keeps them from listening to awesome tunes, man! They hired another one of their chums, a man whom a web search will reveal probably knows the old, failed CEO and the whole team of insiders very well - a little too well. They found the guy to maybe be their CMO, and made him the CEO instead, and didn't hire a real CEO with a fresh, disciplined perspective.
GL to all... ...I don't think the turnaround and growth are right around the corner.
