Hoby has to stop talking a good game and deliver something or the early love affair will end badly and quickly. Already you can almost hear the analysts sigh " enough with the brand 101 stuff and how much the core consumer loves the brand already".... WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO SPECIFICALLY to turn this thing around. It is noble that they want to become the #1 audio company in the world with their core DEMO but guess what, Beats / Dr Dre etc might have something to say about it and perhaps you should articulate how you plan to change the game. The only way this ends well for Hoby is if it gets sold to a much larger player who has the resources and product development capabilities but lacks a meaningful brand prescience with this fickle demo. Without a buy-out, I give them less than a 25% chance of pulling it off. Might be worth a nibble for the buy out if it falls deep enough.
Tomorrow will be bumpy. But there will be investors buying on the cheap. Cash Flow and good balance sheet. I think they might be sandbagging Q3 guidance. This trends higher next week. Will be back in the 5.50-5.60 range soon enough. I still see this as a good value play. They gotta do better than B/E in Q3.
