While I agree, I might also point out that the naked shorters create great buying opportunities. If you had TPX, sorry, but if you didn't, it gave me an opportunity to buy cheap.
Even if you owned it, their rept was going to drive it down 10-15 bucks, bcse that's what happened in after hours.
So the shorters gave you a chance to buy even cheaper. I bot more today at 61, there may be volatility for another few days, then some quiet days as people regain confidence, but in a few months, I see 75 or 80. But not back the where it was for at least 6 months. (hope I'm wrong, glad to take more...)
My advice is to chill, they are never going to ban naked shorting. I know quite a bit about the reporting of shorted shares (I sold computers to DTC way back when I was a younger person), and they could never even find the naked shorters, the way they can trade shrs off exchanges.
So make money off it, as best you can.
Stop them? The SEC? Pulleeze!!! No chance.
