I work for HD and I am focused! But the freaking customers with all their stupid questions. Who wants to and who has the time to answer them? It's hard enough to keep them from climbing the shelves. I work crazy hours and I gotta explain over and over why #1 pine has knots. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR DUDE! Get rid of stupid customers and HD will run just fine.
I hate to tell you, but this is what you're in business for: to serve the dummies; otherwise, all the doit yourselfers would hire professionals and you would be selling only to contractors at 100% contract discounted prices instead of at retail. That's why home improvement is a narrow margin business. All you're gaining is eliminating a little middle groung, but to do it you have to put up with less than professional knowledge which makes it more frustrating and labor intensive. If you'er really unhappy, all you can do is go back to school and become a professional at something else. I'm not bashing you. Those are just the facts as I see them. I'm one of those customers, although I know more than most but less than some others.
