"Memphis-based MRI Interventions Inc. has elected Maria Sainz to its board of directors.
Sainz, who has more than 20 years experience in the medical device industry in the U.S. and Europe, is currently president and CEO of CardioKinetix Inc., a privately-held medical device company in Menlo Park, Calif. that is developing a catheter-based treatment for heart failure. Her experience includes a management tenure with Stryker Corp. and in an advisory capacity for Boston Scientific."
Ms Seinz has very impressive credentials. Of interest is that virtually all of her experience is with heart device companies. One view of her appointment to the BOD might be that now that the brain device has obtained traction and a certain amount of critical mass, more energy is going to be devoted to the development of the heart product in the future. And very clearly Ms Seinz has the contacts with critical players in the industry. Getting her appears to be a real coup.
