US Supreme Court rejects challenge on embryonic stem cell funding
Yahoo no longer allows links to be posted here, but look it up. On Monday the US Supreme Court refused to hear a case that sought to stop the Obama administration's federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.
Although this news was out during trading hours, as it becomes more widely known this could spur the rally in stemcell stocks, that already seems to be underway in 2013.
Compare that with the S&P 500 thus far, which is up 2.5%. Pretty good start for the sector, especially when you realize that OSIR was the big winner last year, up 68%, and probably has had some profit taking early in this year.
Yep, the Seeking Alfalfa clowns will likely spin this as a negative for CUR. The sad thing is that Yahoo Finance treats the Seeking Alfalfa posts as CUR-related "news" (i.e. "headlines"), yet ignores actual CUR-related news such as yesterday's Supreme Court decision.
