stay away from this POS !!!!

Since its original posting in Feb. 2009 in this thread, KMM has gained nearly 28% in capital gains, plus continued to pay the $0.065 monthly dividend --- another 6% so far this year since late-February.

While there have been other stocks that have gained more than 34% (28% + 6%) during that period, the risks of those investments was far greater than with KMM.

KMM is one of those stocks that doesn't get the headlines, isn't very sexy, but just keeps providing a steady income stream for savvy investors. It's a great stock to help balance a portfolio, especially because of its diversity of holdings and International component.

    • I fully agree with your post and would add....

...I think this type of investment ( a high div yield CEF (also MLP's)) will outperform the market for the next few years. With interest rates near zero percent, and with little likelihood of a big economic recovery, typical equities have little reason to rise much above where they are now...BUT, high yield divvy stocks and funds will be sought out and bid-up as investors look for some kind of predictable returns. It is still a good time to get in even after the move up these have already made IMO.

I own KMM, KSM, NIO, AWF, EPD, ETP and FGP

    • and we just keep rolling along. We're now at $7.64 and headed north while raking in the $0.065 dividend each month. That ain't hay (and beats the S%P500). Try to do better.

      • Now nibbling at $9, up from near $5 low a year ago when this thread started ... and now paying bigger dividend of $.84/yr/sh. That's 12% on my average per share investment of $7.

Only wish I'd bought back in at $5 instead of $7! Thanks, KMM! Keep up the good work.

Excellent comment above, by the way, re no/slow recovery and people looking for stable return on their $$$. Yep!

The average "financial advisor" would croak at my two "stock" (CEFs) portfolio ... KMM and GLO. But then those are the people who got us into this otherwise-mess in the first place. I ... I've got a big : ) on my face!

I want to thank you for suggesting KMM way back when we first met along the Appian Way while viewing criminals under punishment. It is now one of the legs of my 4-leg investment stool.
