    Trading Shares-kozmetoo

I sold my 1/2 of my position, in my trading shares, at the close yesterday, at $11.65/share. My cost basis was a little over $11.31 share, not quite $11.32/share, so I did okay. I had many trading shares so I made decent money. I have one half of my trading shares left. However, I am having a little seller's remorse, as I am "feeling" that perhaps, much to my surprise, the stock market it going to continue to take off, from these already high levels, and NYB will go along for the ride, even much higher than it's 50 day and 200 day moving averages.

Like all things, time will tell and we shall see what is up. In any event, thanks for sharing your trading about NYB, with me, and I will be sure to do the same.

    • Bought 2k @ 11.19

    • Bought 2k @ 11.26.I had a day limit order out this am while I was out of the office at 11.14 but it didn't fill. Still in place.

    • I hold long term much more than you. I usually slide in and out of trading shares at 2k a trade. For instance, the shares I sold on Thursday were purchased 2k at 11.17 and 1500 at 11.06. If the price had continued to fall I would have purchased in similar increments.

    • Here's your opportunity.

    • I'm a poor seller. I tend not to take profit when I should. I , of course ,rued having sold my trading shares on Thursday rather than yesterday. But its never bad to make money.Congrats. I hope earnings are good and we'll all be happy.

      • Like I said, I am having some "sellers remorse" in having sold 1/2 of my trading shares on Friday. If NYB goes to $11.30 or lower, in the next upcoming few days, I may buy back in again, (not for trading), but to keep them, this time. I have some more "trading shares" at a price of $11.67/share, but am now thinking of making these "investing shares," as well.

It's weird to me, because the economy seems to be in much worse shape than is reflected in the stock market indexes, and yet the stock market just keeps rising. I shorted some stuff, last week (HSIC and DHR), for 1-2 day day trading quick profits, and again, shorted the same stock again( DHR), on Thursday. This time I held the stock for longer than one day, and Friday, it (DHR) went up alot. Therefore, on this stock, I am presently getting my hands chopped off. Trading is very tough. I can make money on the long (NYB) and short side (DHR, HSIC, GE), and then on the next trade, I can lose it all, and then some.

Do you trade any other stocks besides NYB? If so, which ones.
