HCBK merging with M&T - impact on NYB
How do you experts read any banking industry implications on value of NYB with announced merger today of HCBK with M&T. I know HCBK was a darling of Creamer's show for quite some time and then it came down hard. NYB simply came down hard and never got back up. Can this be good or bad for us here.

  Merger activity is good thing. I own NYB WBS and PBCT and believe they all will be bought at some time in the future. NYB and PBCT have little downside and pay good divi, WBS is owned by Warbus and they will cash in at some point and already have double there initial investment which
  recapitalize WBS.

  One less bank to merge. NYB should be a prime target for take over,providing insiders are willing.
  Gut feeling they have not been offered a good price yet. Bank is doing well on its own and as long
  as they can pay that 8% most people will hold or buy more.
