PMI $12 Hostile Takeover Bid Would Be Free?

The current PMI price action is a little confusing. If another company made a hostile takeover offer of $12 per share, would they actually be getting PMI Group (w/o the Australian & Asia Units) for free without having to really pay anything?

This assumes that PMI gets $1 Billion or $12 per share from QBE for the Australian and Asia Operations.

    • Is this a serious question? The 12 dollars a share is for the asian operations. To perform a "hostile takeover", another company would have to purchase a controlling interest in PMI. That'll carry a hefty price considering recent events.

      Nice try basher.

Yes, this is a very serious question. The $12 per share is for the Australian and Asian Operations.

I own a few shares of both RDN and PMI. My question in no why is bashing the stock. It is actually wondering why PMI and RDN are not much higher today after the buyout news.
