I have been with Scottrade for years. Depends on your trade style. For slow trading, it is good enough. For fast trading, it is bad. Particularly, I found they often give bad fills. Their stupid stop-loss order needs to be 15 cents below the current price to be allowed to enter. For a stock price of $1.20, that is not acceptable.
There are two forms of streaming quote in Scottrade. One is a table which allows to add 20 some stocks and is pretty good. The other is chart which has 1-min, 5-min, 15-min, 60-min, daily, weekly, monthly charting capabilities, but has no technical analysis ability at all. And the charting often gets frozen up with no update data at all, particualry when you are about to get into actions. Even I have a fast Comcast cable internet which is often as fast as 700KB (kilo bytes, not bits), it is still so bad. So if someone has dial-up, it will be useless.
