While I feel the Chinese as usual should play by the international rules if they wish to play in the international arena, I am not convinced that any US Governmental institution is capable of negotiating anything other than a game of chicken. As with the "fiscal cliff" lack of debate, the SEC will not know when (already???) there actions are counterproductive at best and lethal at worst. Neither Qihoo nor Google is a threat to Bidu, but the SEC probably is. I will lick some minor wounds and sell on what I think will be a closing rally then sit out for a while until the dust settles.
i agree. the sec won't cause americans to lose billions of dollars based on their actions. i think rational people will understand this within days or hours. bidu is not a threat of accounting fraud. i am buying at this price now because i doubt i'll ever see it again.
