FDA screws over DOVP & NBIX

Take a look at the latest FDA casualty. This one is as stupid as the NPSP debacle. In the NBIX/DOVP case today (dropped 60%) the FDA said they simply didn't have time to review all the data, and therefore did not approve the 15mg version of the drug.

WTF is going on at the FDA?

    • Yes, the FDA said they didn't have time to review all the data. And yes, I think that WOULD be grounds to sue:

"The agency said it did not have a chance to review all the information submitted by the company. Neurocrine plans to discuss with the FDA what steps it needs to take to get final approval."

    • The FDA are humans like the rest of us. To think that there are no political favors being done is bordering on absurdity. Why would this type of thing only happen in the private sector (albeit public ally traded companies?) Only Ken Lay Et Al? No, I don't think the government hires only those with halos.

That being said, yes, NPSP probably could have headed this off. But we must separate the issues. Corruption in state and federal agencies happens just as it does elsewhere. Don't kid yourself.

From what I've observed through the years, stepped up enforcement of various kinds, corruption scandals, etc. usually occur in waves cycles, tied to election years (or lack thereof), economic activity (or lack thereof) and the like.

My point being that this wave of FDA activity may have something to do with elements only remotely related to the company. Perhaps at another point in time, PREOS would have gone through - independent of its worthiness.

And just because I sleep with tin foil on my head so the CIA doesn't tap my brainwaves doesn't make me paranoid! :-D

      Regards, Bob

    • I thought I was the only onew who noticed. How 'bout dem DYAX shares today? The FDA stole 16%.
