I know I've said this before, but just a little effort on DPS's part to court non-North American markets could/will be huge. Check out this article from the Sydney Herald in Australia: http://www.smh.com.au/news/entertainment/good-living/why-hes-pick-of-the-bunch/2010/01/25/1264267963956.html It is about a guy who's family owns boutique grocery stores, and they carry Doctor Pepper in their specialty "American" section. And get this - they can barely keep it in stock, according to the piece, because of demand. I tell you -- once they nail down their US distribution, expansion strategies, and debt ratio targets, the international strategy will be the one that REALLY propels this puppy upward. It is only a matter of time. I have often tried out the good Doctor on a host of my international friends from all over the world and they love it! (Except for most of my German friends, strangely enough. But then again, they don't like Root Beer, either...go figure)
The exact quote is: "Cans of Dr. Pepper sell faster than Martelli can keep up with." And this is in Australia! Common, DPS - go Koala bear! (Not cola bear, get it?) Seriously. Given the above, there is clearly a taste for Dr. Pepper in the land down-under.
