what is the deal with DPS

Management's repeated comment has been that they will undertake shareholder friendly actions once they reach optimal debt levels, which they did several years early with the Pepsi payout. Once that was announced, they set their first dividend and a share repurchase up to $1 billion. With the coke paypout and the free cash flow and growth, it would be safe to assume that their intention will be to return further free cash to shareholders in the form of both increased dividends and more share repurchases (which will help continue the trend on continued increased dividends over time). This company is poised to be just as shareholder friendly as Coke, Pepsi, etc. Of course, actions speak louder than words or assumptions -- and given that, they've been true to their word so far with the current dividend and the recent share repurchase. I have no reason to doubt their oft stated goal of return all excess cash to shareholders.
