But MMs still playing VERY fast and loose with E, which, again, finished UP in Europe yesterday and only one percent or so down today.
E is just about the strongest stock on the Italian market, and the Brents as a group are just about the strongest stocks in the European markets - mostly because of their humongous dividends, which go ex-divi VERY late this year - in Eni's case, not until May 21st.
And I believe I am absolutely correct about Italy going forward:
If Hollande wins, although that is NOT in the bag now, Mario Monti's prominence within Europe increases exponentially.
He will get his way handily, say commentators, in Italian by-elections this weekend.
And even though Hollande would have trouble getting through his agenda of much higher taxes for the wealthy in France, arguably some of them - and some French companies - will be spooked and seek new homes for their wealth - in Italy! Wouldn't you?
