Missed on this... Thought people respected Under Armor

I thought more people had a bit more respect for Under Armor than to bail on a good earning report. Had anything really changed here for Under Armor...not really. They will continue to beat the estimates as normal. So the big dogs sold because they didn't increase futures to an unreachable number???? Makes no sense to me.

    Sentiment: Hold

    • Don't you remember the Recession? Some people have big gains in UA and want to take some profits off table.

    • I am a long term UA investor, I am very happy with the job being done, the growth of the company and their plans for continued growth. Now, when the market puts a 60+ pe stock price on a company that is growing at a 20+ rate some serious adjustments are going to occur at some point in the earnings releases. This market is at very high levels, in the month of October, and investors have very good memories of market movements in October, so an adjustment to more realistic pe had to happen. Currently, UA financials are starting to make the needed adjustments but those investors looking for short term profits hate to see pe's out of whack with actual earnings, so sell sell hits the stock and the long term investors end up losing out on the accumulated gains caused by short term investors. This happens a lot in this market, look at NFLX yesterday, and AMZN this evening, and TSLA. Hang in there, this is a great company with good products and a skilled managment team.

    • I think we are on the way to $4-$5 eps so I'm happy to pay current p/e....

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Good stuff thanks for the insight, never thought of the non-US investors.

    • Blame it on skittish foreign investors. I've had a couple of stocks lately do this on good earnings (PII). I guess its the new thing, sell off on earnings no matter what. I've made enough money here lately guess I can't complain. Where else are they going to put their money? UA is moving into China btw.

    • The runup required a profit taking sell-off before it can establish and hold the recent highs (mid-80s). This sell-off on such positive news can be VERY misleading. Sometimes there is a sell-off followed by a recovery and run-up, so this drop could be a consolidation of the new bottom - or it could be followed by a return of buyers after the sellers are shaken out. Unexpected by many investors I'm sure but technically healthy.
