Not saying I'm always right, but feel good about this and willing to put my finger on this. Bought some puts this week and depending on action tomorrow on friday, may double up.
If you are going to invest in UA or NKE, you should attend games of young people. It is unreal to see everyone wearing UA or NKE. NKE must make a mint off the socks. At one recent basketball game, every kid had on NIKE ELITES. Those socks are $15 to 19 a pair.
My Puts are up very nicely at 250% profit. Can't decide if I'll hold through earnings or just take my profit before hand. This was such a perfectly times trade that I can't help but gush over it.
I think I'm going to sell my ITM puts and buy some OTM puts with only my profits. Play with houses money and take my own initial capital off the table. Sounds like a win-win to me. Here's to another 10% correction! Cheers all
Take the profits. With all the recent endorsement deals, Navy jumping on board, product placements, it looks like UA is pleased with earnings. If Tom Brady and the Patriots play the 49ers in the Super Bowl, that will help UA. Both teams have UA athletes.
Those are additional costs for them. They pay the movies and sports team to wear their stuff.
I could spin the same thing to say that maybe they can't make enough sales and have really stepped up their game to get new people into the store.
But in all seriousness, I really think you should not be considering product promotions as basis of good investing strategy.
Nice chart. It seems to have found steam in last 2 days after weeks of indirection.
Fundamentally, all retail has done horrible, what makes you think UA will be an exception. Technically, it is way overbought, volume has died in last 2 weeks and it's been drifting up like a zombie. Now look at the options activity during the last week and if you still have any doubts, you are stubborn long- but loyal long. If I'm wrong, you deserve the profits that will come your way. Good luck longs and shorts! Let the games begin.
