I think you are telling us that are in the middle to lower income bracket, that we are there, because we don't work very hard. I can see in your reasoning, it is better to redistribute the wealth upward to the top 1% and lower the income tax rates for corporations from 35 - 25% in the Bush-McCain tax proposal. Obviously you have no clue about "Demand Side" economics. I would guess that I lost more sweat by hard work by the time I was 12 years old than you have in your whole lifetime.
Fdietsche34, Corporations don't pay taxes, their customers do. If you raise the tax to high they become uncompetitive with companies from outside the US. Therefor less jobs for US workers. You keep saying you worked harder than others on this board. That may be the case but it's obvious that lots of folks worked hard and did make it to the top. There are also a lot of folks that don't even want to work. As far as I'm concerned I don't want to give them one thin dime of my hard earned money.
I don't mind paying higher taxes as long as it's not wasted on bums that don't want to work.
There has been no mention of raising taxes on Corporations by me. You are the one that stated that. A little economics 101 for you. Consumers are the ones who really set the price for a product. If the price charged gets too high, the law of substitution comes into play. If you understand the economic laws of supply and demand this would make sense to you. And by the way, I am far from indigent. And I might add, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I worked hard and now am comfortable. If it weren't for the G.I. bill I would not have had the opportunity.
