...and they wonder why there's a shortage of truckers.....

My MD has ZERO interest in joining this Registry and jumping through it's hoops......

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) updated its prescribed medical examiner’s certificate form effective May 21, 2012.
As of May 21, 2014, only medical examiners that appear in the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners may perform driver physical exams. Drivers and motor carriers must make sure that the examiner meets this requirement. If your current examiner is unaware of this requirement, it is imperative that he or she becomes informed. If the examiner does not wish to pursue the Registry or simply does not know of the requirement, you may no longer use his or her services for driver medical exams as of May 21, 2014.
GOOD LUCK FINDING A PHYSICIAN TO EXAMINE YOU:
The National Registry requires medical examiners to participate in required training, pass a certification test through an approved testing organization, and register on the National Registry system to become a certified medical examiner. Certified medical examiners agree to keep their National Registry accounts up to date (licenses, training records, etc.) and to transmit at least monthly results of all commercial motor vehicle drivers (CMV) driver exams performed to FMCSA via the National Registry system.
