It seems to me that some investors have become frustrated with the performance of OZRK. The growth, of course, is there. The problem is that profits are slow to catch up. Return on assets particularly is weak, but predictable as to the fast growth.
I like the strategy but hope they will eventually focus on the original premise, to maximize return on equity and EPS. Sometimes I've found that banks, even when they have good intentions, just get totally focused on market share and sacrifice everything (including profits) to gain customers.
