    Today's article in NY times business section: "Investing with Anthony R. Manno Jr. etc.

    I hope a ray of sunshine in the R/E market. I read another article (filing) that one of the principals in the article, Kenneth D. Statz, purchased on 12/19/08 3,300 shares of JRS for a child. Mr. Statz is a portfolio manager for Security Capital: US Real Estate Shares. This Times article and the purchases by Mr. Statz might be some good news for us JRS shareholders. Mr. Statz has 26 years in R/E investing and was formally VP in Investment Research Dept of Goldman Sachs. REITS were his speciality. I hope this info is beneficial to any and all JRS holders. jddavis2

    • Well, I'm not really enthused by a purchase like that by a multimillionaire. It amounts to a 330 dollar a month payback! That's not a ray of sunshine that's spit.

      Incidentally, the returns on this fund are so high I'm thinking of buying 40000 shares--do you think this is a good idea or bad idea?

      • well, to each his own as they say... but addition to other hi-yeilding CEFs in my portfolio (AOD, FHI, EAD)
        I've been accumulating as of last week and bought about 32K shares - it's at a 10 percent discount to NAV and the best yielding REIT fund I could find - good luck- I think with this yield and at these levels of REITs downside risk is relatively low....
