Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE, PCX: RAD) today announcedsales results for July. Monthly Sales
For the four weeks ended July 23, 2005, same store sales rose 0.8percent over the prior-year period. Pharmacy same store salesdecreased 0.6 percent, while front-end same store sales increased 3.2percent.
Total drugstore sales for the four-week period increased 0.5percent to $1.264 billion compared to $1.258 billion for the sameperiod last year. Prescription revenue accounted for 63.1 percent ofdrugstore sales, and third party prescription revenue represented 93.8percent of pharmacy sales.
Same store sales for the 21-week period ended July 23, 2005 wereflat, consisting of a 1.1 percent pharmacy same store sales decreaseand a 2.0 percent increase in front-end same store sales.
Total drugstore sales for the 21 weeks ended July 23, 2005,declined 0.3 percent to $6.745 billion from $6.766 billion in lastyear's like period. Prescription revenue accounted for 63.6 percent oftotal drugstore sales, and third party prescription revenue was 93.9percent of pharmacy sales.
