    • <<<< Good sss due to leap year and better stores than last year. Will end up over $3.00....>>>>

Were you talking about this leap year...

      HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

    • > Good sss due to leap year...

Leap year is a non-issue to Rite Aid as they do not report on a calendar month basis.

Tomorrow they will report sales for the period 1/27/08 - 3/1/08 (35 days total). The report last year covered sales from 1/28/07 - 3/3/07 (also 35 days total).

These are comparable periods in every sense of the word. The numbers will not be artificially inflated nor will they need to be adjusted 'after the fact' for comparison purposes.

    • Well they will have to wait longer or who knows maybe they added when lower.SSS if higher we go thru $3again.Markets are beat and most stocks are beat unless in commodities.Called for 2.80 to 2.90 and last 15mins it made it in that area.

    • Only you would think this is positive. It will seem big, but Comparatively speaking, Ralph, the leap year fools no one.

For those that want to compare apples to apples, they will do the adjustment and discount the extra day. WAG had an average month, even considering the big flu epidemic, WAG reported that flu scripts were down in comparison to last year.

RAD doesn't have better stores than it did last year. The stores that it has gained are, for the most part, the reason RAD has blown the last two quarters. Read the Q's, ralph, it may help you be a little more accurate.

BTW, WAG opened 66 NEW stores in NEW DESIRABLE locations last month. How many NEW stores, in New Locations has RAD opened in the last year?

      • Didn't have to open new stores it was easier to buy the competition out and WAG failed to do that so they have no choice now but to build. We have one WAG store and 4 RAD stores here. The WAG store is on the end of town where stores have left. The biggest doctor office complex is 1/2 blocl away from RAD store where most get presctipts there.

      • Right Jhey, only I would think it is a positive. So they will "do the adjustment and discount the extra day"? Where do you work, in the front office there? God you sound silly. WAG was certainly more than proud to announce in their report two days ago that the extra day helped sales for them. And Jhey, no new Eckerd stores will be included in the numbers. When I say better stores, it is because of RAD closing poor ones, and adding and remodeling a few good ones, along with better merchandising....just read the report tomorrow Jhey, just read the report....and cover Jhey, cover....

    • With a stronger market would like to see it go thru the 3.25 and hit 3.50 then build another base between 3.00 to 3.50.Calls are 5.00 the close we get to those maybe it will try to touch off those.
