    • you obviously did not attain a higher education. The Boston Tea Party was about a claim to a fundamental right: Taxation but only with representation. Nothing more. That was the extent of it. The Crown, to their eternal shame, said no. And the rest is history. Google it, if you don't believe me.

      • The Boston Tea Party was NOT about "high taxes". It was over American Colonists not being able to vote on matters before the British Parliament. Their catch phrase was "Taxation Without Representation" By the way, the tax rate on American colonists was less than 2%.. "High taxes" was never the issue.

        Please refer to the Declaration of Independence for the stated grievances against the Crown. In summary it delineates the failure of the elite to promote the general welfare of the common man. Follow that up with reading the US Constitution's mission statement.

        "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

        PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE means advancing the living conditions of the common citizen. Do you really think the the founding fathers tossed the bejeweled royalty to have an America where the top 2% own 95% of everything?

        Do you know $6 trillion of our $17 trillion debt is war debt? Can you recall that After World War II the Tax rate on persons making over $200,000 was 86.45%, and gladly paid as the cost of Freedom? These Tea Party hypocrites have no sense at all Americanism at all. There answer to the war debt is rob the public entitlement trusts of monies paid in good faith, so they can pay "NO NEW TAXES".

        The Tea Party has no sense of citizenship, social responsibility, or the American way of life. They the voice of unbridled greed, not caring who or what gets crushed in the process, including the United States itself. They are not patriots.
