let's be real about what the teabaggers stand for

Strict adherence to the Consitution and smaller government sound like reasonable positions until you drill down a little. These nitwits demand that virtually every action taken by or agency of the government be specifically justified in the language of a document written before we had the light bulb. Which is not to say some of the guiding principles are outdated. But as every thinking person knows the Constitution is and was meant to be a living document subject to modification to suit changing thought. Besides, these nitwits wrap themselves in the Constitution like some people wrap themselves in the flag, using it as a means to assume radical positions while faking allegience to the founders.
As for smaller government and lower taxes, nothing could be more irresponsible than advocating that the debt limit not be extended as it has been done dozens of times without contentious debate. Until the teabaggers arrived on the scene to threaten not only our economy but the global one. These nuts flirt with anarchy while trying to convince the rest of us of their fidelity to the country. Nothing could be further from the truth.

    • "advocating that the debt limit not be extended as it has been done dozens of times "

REMEMBER OBAMA PROMISED "CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN"... Not MORE OF THE SAME!

    • So toast, I think the replies to your post tell you that the current financial situation in this country is different and somewhat unique in its depth of debt and borrowing without the means to pay for it, taxes on the "rich" and derivatives of same notwithstanding.

What changes to the Constitution can be made to stop the high unwed birth rate for blacks and latinos or lower the unemployment % rate for same. What tweeks to the definition of a particular line or phrase will "fix" the social ills of this country. Do you suggest that true beneficial change can be made by political force or vast quantities of monetary spending or redistribution? You can change it because you like it better that way. The question is whether it benefits society as a whole or just for you and your social faction.

    • Even funnier than your post is when the Liberal legislators state, with indignation I may add, that the United States always pays its bills and that the debt ceiling debate should never happen. What we are doing is asking others to lend us a dollar so we can repay the 50 cents we owe them. Indignation indeed! LMFAO

    • The Constitution was not meant solely to feed and house the lazy who elect to do nothing. I see no reference to AA or EEO to a biased group, only equal opportunity for ALL!

    • Strict adherence to the Consitution and LIMITED government are the law of the land. The SOCIALIST nitwits demand that virtually every aspect of our lives be controlled by an agency of the government. The Constitution is and was meant to be a document subject to modification by
amendment. The Socialist nitwits treat the Constitution like some people wipe themselves with toilet paper using it as a means to assume their radical positions while faking allegience to the founders.
As for limited government and spending. The debt limit must not be extended until the government proves it can pay for the raise. The government cannot pay for what it has already borrowed.
"A government big enough to provide everything is large enough to take everything away!"
