not a very good week for the nitwits

The NYP published a picture of two men with backpacks saying they were being sought by the FBI for the marathon bombing. It was an attempt to scoop the rest of the media. But the two men in the picture were not really suspects. Oooops. In a similar attempt to get the story first Faux Noise (and CNN too) on air reporters claimed an arrest had been made for the bombing. Not so.
In the world of right wing nutbag radio M. Savage and G. Beck went on paranoid rants about government cover-ups and made all sorts of crazy accusations relating to the bombing incident. Naturally this did not have any negative impact on their credibility with the lunatic conservatives who listen to them since the truth never enters in to the equation for these people.
Right here on the good lod BMY board the resident nitwits failed to muster the courage to comment on beating's post regarding the findings of a bi-partisan commission who concluded the US tortured detainees and that Bush admin officials were responsible. Nor did they take up the challenge of starting a rational discussion on whether we have a gun violence problem in this country and if so why, and what can be done to reduce it.
Yet none of what I have mentioned is surprising. Right wing media being factually inaccurate and outlandish in their "reporting" happens every day. The nitwits on this board showing extraordinary cowardice and ignorance and the unwillingness to move beyond talking points to more closely examine the issues of the day........that is their M.O.
And speaking of cowardice, how about the senators who bowed to the pressure brought to bear by the NRA and filibustered the background check vote. If ever the complete corruption of Washington DC at the hands of lobbyists thwarting the will of the people was on displaying for all to see it was on that vote. My great hope is this inspires the public to action. Not only in pressuring their reps in government to vote in line with 90% of the population but more importanl

guess toast qualifies as a coward by his own measure!

Nitwit wants mandatory "background checks" of people wanting to buy a gun.
.So Nitwit. Specifically WHAT finding, in a lawful background "check" would disqualify a U.S. citizen from
purchasing a gun. What "information" would be included in a lawful background check that doesn't violate peoples' rights? Does your background include your parents' political and/or religious affiliations?
How about Your sexual orientation? How will the government know about your mental health and dependence upon drugs/medications/alcohoil? Will your race have any bearing? What about the nation or continent of origin of your grand or greatgrandparents? Will You be allowed to buy a gun if your
father was a convicted drug dealer? What if your auntie was a porn queen? Will it matter if You
live in a doublewide or inner city slum? Will the government deny you the right to buy a gun if You
rely upon foodstamps or medicare? Less
