I know I complain all the time about what I perceive to be a computer program that manipulates TranSwitch's stock and I apologize to those I annoy, but are there other stocks that regularly trade in increments of a hundredth of a cent? Obviously there is a whole universe of stocks, but the ones I regularly follow don't generally trade that way. Has anyone else noticed that when trying to buy or sell this stock, you have to "chase" it both ways?
Ochs. I think it might have to do with high frequency trading. I understand this way. As soon as you send your order in the high frequency guys or computers see your order a mega second before it is placed and then they run in front of you and either buy or sell in front of you, then turn around and buy or sell to you to complete a transaction. They try and make a few hundreds of a penny per transaction by doing this. This is my best guess to what is happening.
