    Fame and travel

Flying from Chicago to Nashville I sat next to this huge guy who had a super bowl ring. I introduced myself and said I noticed his ring.

Ray Nitzche (sp)...others overheard us and several passengers got up and said hello. Ray then got up and wound up going up and down the aisle speaking to everyone. I was impressed.

    • Web- My recall amazes everybody, had lunch last week with old squadron buddy hadn't seen since 1958 and resumed discussion of old [and I do mean old] girlfriends.Only shortfall I have is can't remember last time had sex!

    • Plute, you mentioned in an earlier post that you had not kept a dairy... I challenge that statement...

In 50 years your great grand kids can read the ABT Bulletin Board and learn as much about you as they want...

      Check Six Amigo...

    • What about when Nicholson played the joker, I think it was the joker, in a batman movie? You're right, that line, You can't stand the truth, is all Nicholson.

      Newby

    • Web- There is a little town near there called Calabash and has about 6 restaurants to chose from.BTW- I will never forget "The Shining" as I saw the movie at home on a Sunday night, next day flew to Portland,OR and friends took me to lunch next day at Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood where as I approached the lodge said this place looks familiar,I feel as if I been here before. They said:"Did you see "The Shining?" I like Nicholson as the Marine Colonel...."YOU CAN'T STAND THE TRUTH!" Persh-Best Navy book is WINGS AND WARRIORS by Don Engen. Don was neighbor, retired VADM fighter pilot, head FAA,Air-Space Museum and died in a glider accident 2 years ago in Minden, NV.Only book Don ever wrote about his Navy flying life from 1943-....A super guy!

    • You take your Time General... Time has very little relevance in the overall picture...

Our deadlines and pressures are self-inflicted, and artificial in most cases...

I think Plute is a lot like Nicholson... If you rent "Goin South", you will know what I mean...

If you like Calabash Plute, try the Cherry Grove/Little River area at the NC/SC State Line, on the Coast just North of Myrtle Beach...

Have a good day all you Abbottites...

    • WC,

Sometimes we will talk on IM.

I don't recall "Goin' South". I try to keep a little list of books and videos in my wallet.

Right now I've finished "Bias" ans "Dot.com"
      Struggling through "John Adams".

      Soon, Persh

    • General, I think Jack is one of my Favorites... I liked him in The Shining, and he was in a great movie not many have seen called "Goin South"... If you have not seen it, rent it... "As Good as It Gets" is a classic...

Nowthen, as usual when I get together with my Family, there is always a situation... My Mother-In-Law, (Bless Her Heart) got out of the shower and wanted to curl her hair... I was out on the veranda smoking a cigarette, sipping a yellow one, and watching the Beach Babettes, as our Condo was on the second floor overlooking the pool... Bodacious Ta Ta's everywhere General...

Anyway, my Sister In Law had hung a metal necklace over the nightlight that was plugged into the wall socket in my MIL's Bathroom... When my MIL pulled the nightlight out, the metal necklace slipped down behind the nightlight and shorted the line to common... She came running out of the Bathroom with her hair hanging down in her face saying "Flames were coming out of the wall"...

Well, we had a $300 deposit on the unit, so I guzzled my Corona and set off to find a Home Depot or Ace Hardware to get a Ground Fault Duplex Replacement...

The closest Ace Hardware was 20 Miles away... There was a Walmart about 8 Miles, but the traffic in that direction was un-bearable...

I arrived at the Ace Hardware and had a decision to make... Was that sumbich White, or Ivory...? I grabbed the Ivory one and headed back to the ranch... I shoulda flipped a GD coin, so I turned around and went back to get the White one...

I thought vacations were suppose to be relaxing... A tranquil time to study mammory glands and young buttocks in their buttfloss thongs...

It seems there is always a situation to take care of...

I don't really know you, in that I have never had the pleasure of shaking your hand... I do not know how much pain Missus p83 was in, nor do I know the struggle you probably went through...

I do know you are a man of class with a good heart... I am proud to know you in this format and if you ever need a Bud, just to talk too, let me know...

      Best as always,

      wc8

    • AMD, I have played Stone Mountain many times... It's a nice course, nicer if you are a good golfer...

I got my golf shoes from LL Bean, $49.95, called Slicer's Choice... When you spend a lot of time in the woods, you need a comfortable cushion and a strong sole...

Wish there was some way we could contact each other on the QT so I could buy you a beer... I live very near Al_phal_pha_retta...

      Take it easy AMD...

    • Persh- Your right Maroon Bells [most photographed for post cards] is where Air Force pilot put that A10 in when he decided to cash in.Best rainbow fishing is Fryingpan River below Ruedi Reservoir.Actually, I prefer Steamboat Springs less phony than Aspen, just look at all them private jets from California.I'll say one thing Aspen is sure the other extreme from Waukegan for you flatlanders.AMD you got to quit asking for autographs that's so pedestrian and brush up on your spelling,I think the only name you got right is Turner.BTW-Was dining in Santa Monica once with Jane Fonda at the other table and I restrained myself from calling her Hanoi Hannah.Met Clint Eastwood thru friends at his Mission Ranch in Carmel....wouldn't think of even mentioning his best movie "Misty" filmed right there in Monterey County. Most famous guy I ever spent time with was Neil Armstrong when he went thru Navy Test Pilot School at Pax River....real quiet guy.
