Thanks for the detailed answer. I do own staid, unexciting EnCana (ECA), I'd settle for a double in anything.
Has everyone forgotten those days when your mutual fund could double!!! I remember Janus Int. BioTech (?) I bought it when it came out and it tripled and I sold it 2 yrs later(?)
Off to vote, remember, always vote for the best man as long as he is a Republican,
1) the energy traders are studying the implementation of a clearing house for trades--which would liberate billions of dollars that they currently use to collateralize their trades, 2) I believe that once the SEC investigation is over and they determine no accounting shenanigans or accept a paymnet of a fine, that some pressure will be relieved,
3) assets - liabilities = $13.00--even if we determine that the market wants to pay 50% of book--that gets me to 6.50--(and add in its debt ) at this price this company is still trading at less than 1 x sales.(
4) The Company is shedding non-core assets, and raising capital to pay off their debts
5)Interest rate cuts tomorrow will make the debt more manageable
6) You are right this is not 1999--however, we are also talking about a current price that is a fraction of its 99 price.
These are my thoughts!
He won't sell his Abbott stock...he's a dumb bastard just like you and most of the others on this board! The idea of a liberal calling anyone else an idiot is too funny.
Ponty, Newby was just testing Myles again... Myles loves to bash, but when it comes to saying anything positive, his lips all pucker up and his fingers start studdering...
Newby knows how to shut him up... Just ask him a legitimate question...
Simplicity is final...
ABT may be where it was 4 1/2 years ago, but when I look at my portfolio and see my cost basis versus the total amount in ABT stock, I am very happy in regards to my investment in ABT stock.
