Sometimes it appears that MTG has found a new home in Kiki.

    • AOK.....

I sure do. Congratulations on reaching it. Another copurse that is interesting is one North of Vancouver called Furry Creek. Located on the Sound, ala Georgia Straits. The course starts out on the mountain working its way down until you hit the so-called basin for the last 4 holes. Coming down, you have to drive over ravines, play around the pines, etc. As a guest at a tournment, our host gave each of us a bag of balls, and said we would need them. The signature hole was #15 located in the Sound. From the tee box it was 183 to the pin. We were there at low tide and the # of balls on the rocks was really something. I refuse to admit to how bad I played that hole, but took my medicine and ribbing from my foursome.

Persh; You are right about Prague, most tourists do not go there. I loved the sidewalk cafe's with the local artists selling their wares in Wesensclaus(i knew I would butcher this)Square. Also some of the best Pilsner in the world, really fresh. BTW, I did have a women cut my hair for 2 years after my barber fell off his roof cleaning leaves out of the gutter. Was a diabetic, so the tibial and femoral shaft fractures were difficult to heal & required multiple surgeries. But while he was gone, she was great, even gave a shoulder massage after washing your hair. So relaxed, and not bad lookin' either. Talked in that low whispering voice. Hated to see old Tony come back!

Mother's cousin had a home on Cypress Point. Remember the infamous shot over the ocean on the three par....Porky Oliver...where the guy had a huge bogie...12 or something... all in the Pacific...I think I lost five balls trying to reach that sucker.

Finally did, but it was anguish.

    • Plute...

The Benson is one of the Rose Capital's of the World most treasured hotels. Another neat spot to go to is on the Columbia River on the Washington side called Skandia Lodge. Absolutely beautiful. Huge vaulted ceiling with fireplaces and glass facing the Columbia Sits high on the the bluff with a bend in the river that wind surfers claim is the best wind surfing there is. The golf course is carved into the hills and with the tall timber, you need to be a good straight shooter or down the ravine you go. Only lost 20 golf balls over the 18.

    • The best "barber shops" are in Taipei!

Antoine's very touristy indeed. Maison Pierre around the corner is tops. I don't know if it is still there. I had trigger fish there in 1974, it was absolutely out of this world.

      Check six tomorrow! Kiki

    • Persh,

The best part of having a woman cut your hair, is the shampoo/scalp massage she does to you before she gives you the cut. Ahhhhhh!

    • Antoines still there. It is on St Louis. The last time I ate there it was touristy and I have heard others say the same.

      From their menu:

      "Pompano en papillote $30.50
Our creation of pompano baked in a parchment bag with shrimp and lump crabmeat in a white wine sauce."

    • That is pompano, as in New Orleans. Reminds me of the formerly great Antoine's and their pompano in papillote. I believe Antiones was on Chartres in the quarter.

    • Ahhh, Pluto...

Believe it or not, I once spent a wonderful day in Sete. We had a fish called Durando???; looked a little like a small pampano, simply great. On the waterfront. It is really an industrial sort of place. As for Prague, I would say it is off the beaten path for most travelling Americans.

As for the haircut, I tipped Clyde $2, so the total was $14, but then he "worked me in". I have not reached that point where I feel quite right having a female cut my hair. But I did have a gay barber once who passed away (AIDS). My boys (younger then) said he made them nervous.

      I couldn't let it pass...Timberline Lodge was my aunt's...Dad's sister's hangout...decades... great place.

She had a home with a view of Mt. Hood.
