That road over the Sierra was quite an undertaking. Yes, I can hop over to the other side. Drive extraordinary...up over high country. Tuolumne Meadows...then over Tioga Pass...then onto Carson Valley or over to Mammoth... Love those terms...places.
Eastern side is lovely too...great lakes at 9000 ft. and above. Do you ever go to Twin, Virginia lakes? The hiking there is nice, we used to go every year with the kids.
You can just hop over to the other side, can't you...via Tuolome road? It might be a nice outing...the other side of the mountain...sing along! As I recall, that road is beautiful with the meadows and hiking trails. Celerii
Second home, yes, and the fall will be lovely.
4,250 feet. Hard to escape the heat. Bridgeport is really special at 8,000 as well as Mammoth on the eastern slope of the Sierra. Tahoe, too. Wish I were there.
AOK, you live in a heaven on earth. Because of you posts on restaurants, I thought you lived in the SF area. Is the cabin your second home? It looks very nice. I'm guessing it has been hot and dry there, but fall will be pleasant. Wishing you a happy day, celerii
