      ===========================================

      Again?

      <<fully illustrative of what a caricature of asinine bluster are.>>

      reconstruct and resubmit, please.

      Here for you ;)

      ============================================

      Unlike the pompous, pontificating Pontigula, I welcome the call for erudition and the notice of inaccuracy.

      Of course, the phrase was meant to be---
      "..fully illustrative of what a caricature of asinine bluster YOU are.."

      Humbly and appreciatingly yours,

      Lad

    • >>> As for the rest, as long as I am right, ... <<<

      Ah, there's the rub, isn't it. You so seldom are.

    • Pompous Ponte:

      Yours is a completely predictable reply -- fully illustrative of what a caricature of asinine bluster are.

      The buds here have always known it. Lately, I've just been particularly determined to expose it.

    • GUILTY!

      Thanks, sokg.

    • You are jettisoned until further notice.

      Wish you well though, and please keep studying.

    • Why, the smelly impersonator liar boy cannot express himself in his native tongue, never mind Latin.
      Latin fat pin, jackass fad Lad, arrogant impersonator, obnoxious pontificator
      Mad Lad....

      You got scrooooed apparently. Good Heavens. get out, man.

    • abbott,
      I knew I was dumb about grammar but not that dumb, well I did know I was that dumb. I sent stories to a teacher who lived in Sag Harbor NY, and I was always surprised at the mistakes I made when she returned the stories. I was going to write children stories but dropped out of class. That was a mistake on my part. I probably could have gotten them published and made a lot of money. In the last sentence I used (out of) and have been told that that is incorrect, as one should never use two preposition together. And, how many times do we see people using the word "You," incorrectly? Please don't count my mistakes in spelling as they are usually typos.

      abbott,
      Now, if I only knew as much grammr as you, I wouldn't have to resort to such as, "whatever and I reckon." Now, do these two little marks after reckon go before the period or after as I have it, and shoud whatever begin with a cap.

      Phy - all in the spirit of friendly relations, here goes...

      * Your use of 'Now' to start the sentence is 'conversational' invocation. Unless your writing is specifically in that voice, you should limit its use. Clearly, your note is meant to be inquisatory and presumably scholarly, not conversational.

      * grammar (not grammr)

      * 'resort to such as' -- just 'resort to' is sufficient, 'such as' is superflous

      * The period should go outside the quotation marks because it ends the entire sentence, not just the quoted phrase. Only if the entire phrase was a quotation (or perhaps within parentheses) would the period precede the quote mark or right parenthesis.

      * should (not shoud)

      * Capitalize 'whatever' only if it is used standalone. In this case, yes, it should be capitalized.

      * In your quotation, you should separate the two phrases, i.e., "Whatever" and "I reckon". They are independent phrases, used at different times.
