O, Pitiful - What is pitiful about it? The soldiers of the Revolutionary War have been forgotten, the War of 1812, the Blackhawk War, William Henry Harrison battle with Tecumseh at Tippencaoe on Sunday 11 Nov. 1811, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I,etc. Nobody is living when these wars were fought (expect a few during WW I,) so people don't remember them, and as the old saying goes, "Time nor Tide waits for no one." Tomorrow is a new day, with a new war - did somebody say Iraq - and what a waste - of course look at our, "Mission Accomplished," leader - what a waste. Phy
Phy, It just strikes me as sad that in some small crevice the UofW could not find it possible to at least install a palque, etc. I hate war, but I think a memorial reminds us of the human costs and may keep in check those armed chair heroes that I have heretofore so scornfully opined. O.
Phy- We all know as a private in Army you never shared memories some of us have except for the day you kissed the major.I served with the finest guys I ever knew and we still meet once a year for that view & toast of those lost in the Pacific & Vietnam.Check 6 BTW-Tippecanoe & Tyler too only honored in Indiana.
